I paint objects, portraits and symbols tied to captured moments in time. The work is often centered around celebrations and gatherings, imploring humor and irony to explore the tension between joy and the complexity of life’s milestones. Rooted in my upbringing in the service industry, surrounded by both formal traditions and thrifted treasures, my work draws inspiration from Dutch still life painting while reimagining it for contemporary contexts. Through drapery, muted palettes, and bursts of color, I create layered narratives that invite viewers to see their own experiences reflected in the symbols of parties, relationships, and shared rituals.
